That Look in your eyes,

February 25, 2011

what does that look say
I am their with you
but I’m a million miles away

and both of us we know the truth
of where love lies in time
so prescient how

now we’re both slipping
back and forth
beyond, behind, between the lines

where chance casts fatal, glancing, lies
to keep his circle
hyp-no-tized and I just dance

and then just at the end
the way he looks
as he begins to cry

I’ll keep that image
in my mind; a fond farewell,
that smile at
bam, blam, good-bye.

Inc.test

the world is a revolving door in a very large wall
part of a building,
it is not important what type of a building it is
only that you know it is
it swings round and we leave a trail of footsteps
as many revolutions as the door turns during our lifetime
but while it spins we percieve only the center
as if we were ourselves the center and the door were turning around us
we cannot see out either way; the sky is obscured by daylight the earth is obscured by shadow
and the line, the wall does never move
seeming always very thin
like a vertical cross.
It is that plain we tread
and it is time as we see it from the revolving door of perception
through the center of our minds it extends up and out and we anticipate this
forgetting that it is behind us
forgetting that it is below us
forgetting that it runs everywhere through us
,and we believe that appearance and feeling are finite, measurable
and though we know that we feel ourselves to be standing still
still we believe that we are moving forward,
for we as species could not bear to move backwards
believing that we have seen what lies behind and held it in our hands
or between
but we ourselves lie between the boundaries of this plain
unable to see its borders
for they lie behind us and ahead aswell
and we will feel death’s absence
as the line disappears from our view,
having passed through us in its entirety.
we may later come upon another wall
the same but for a single brick
and pass through it, walking the exact same path but for one single step
and believing that wall too to be as thin and as wide as our horizon
this we will experience many times
and many times we will ask ourselves if to experience is to live
and many times we will reach for one conclusion without finding that our evolution lies within ourselves

The Pact

January 28, 2011

There are those among us
who speak not of what is
but of what is going to be
there are those among us who would
rather sit and stare
than stand and speak
there are those among them
who would seem to be just
like them but
they are deceiving
they, we
must see through
what they see for us
and must see that we
will turn to dust
if they are not wiped from our scenery
it is ours society
which they write
and act for themselves
and draw pacts for themselves
and threaten to bring down the power
of fact for themselves
so we’ll live for themselves
and those selves
which live far above our selves
will live for themselves
and not our selves
no not our selves
can you hear the weeping of the green black earth
in your cells
or can you only hear
your cell’s
ringing in your pockets
can you hear the doorbells
ringing
debtors police and the new world
bringing you death
and relief
from the heavy burden of choice
and republic voice
and the heavy toxic air
which burns the land
as you walk and wonder
how you ever could have brought
down your hand
on those ways you could not understand.

I haven’t read a goddamn thing today
not one word and there’s about a hundred thousand I’m in need
I’m blowing through the green pills at an incredible rate
and I think I’m starting to like the stuff
so it’ll run out just as the habit stiffens into a full blown dependency
and then I’ll be on my ass howling at the walls.
Sprinting in what direction to
I do not look forward

The Hawkeyes win
And clouds roll in
O’er the great state

Hello professor Baske,

I’m writing to inquire about the possiblity of enrolling in two communication arts classes for next fall: 355 intro to media production and 325 mass media and human behavior. Due to unfortunate circumstances my enrollment elligibility, despite the fact that I have declared a communications major, did not allow me to sign up for classes until 5 PM this afternoon, serveral hours after the enrollment restriction was lifted for non-major applicants. As a result both classes were filled by the time that I was able to register (the classes were, as of last night, still quite under-enrolled). These classes, being prerequisites to several others, are highly pursuant to my graduation goals and there is a certain urgency to complete them as soon in my academic career as possible. I’m writing in hopes that you will be able to assist me in regard to these two classes and I am willing to follow whatever instruction you can give in this matter. I thank you for your time and look forward to speaking to you again in the future.

Sincerely,
yours

He pulled out, rolling over a small deposit of quickly melting snow, – the last remnant of the property’s stockpile, dying of old age – that, bieng quite aware of the vehicle, seemed to heave itself out of the way. The cul-de-sac rose gently behind the car and centered itself, as always, after the thirty-two foot marker, at which point the steering wheel would have completed its one-quarter rotation and the car be sufficiently repositioned.
